About
Empowering Rural Communities Through Sustainable Agriculture
At Mwandani International, we believe that thriving rural communities are the foundation of a stronger, more sustainable future. Through agriculture, mentorship, and economic empowerment, we work to create lasting change where it’s needed most.
“Living simply involves sharing blessings with those in need, bridging gaps between rural and urban communities. Hardship often drives migration, yet poverty persists. Let’s extend help with love, compassion, and support, connecting communities in need“
– Niva Kegode
Our Purpose
At Mwandani International, our mission is to empower rural farming communities by facilitating improvements in agricultural production and developing sustainable small-scale industries that utilize locally sourced raw materials.
We envision vibrant farming communities where families can build better lives, children have brighter futures, and individuals have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to their nation’s development.
Our Story
Mwandani International was founded in response to the challenges faced by vulnerable communities in Kenya. What began in the 1980s as a grassroots effort to support street children evolved into a broader mission to address the root causes of poverty and rural-urban migration.
In 2018, Mwandani International was officially established as a nonprofit organization in the United States, shifting its focus to empowering rural farming communities through sustainable agriculture and small-scale industry development. Today, we continue to build on this legacy by creating opportunities for self-sufficiency and long-term economic growth.

Mwandani International is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors and an Advisory Board:
